Tire Pressure Monitoring System

“TPMS” is the abbreviation of “Tire Pressure Monitoring System”, which is what we call direct tire pressure monitoring system. TPMS was first used as a dedicated vocabulary in July 2001. The U.S. Department of Transportation and the National Highway Safety Administration (NHTSA), in response to the U.S. Congress’s requirements for vehicle installation TPMS legislation, jointly monitored the two existing tire pressures. The system (TPMS) was evaluated and confirmed the superior performance and accurate monitoring capabilities of the direct TPMS. As a result, the TPMS automotive tire intelligent monitoring system, as one of the three major safety systems of automobiles, has been recognized by the public and received due attention along with automobile airbags and anti-lock braking systems (ABS).

Direct tire pressure monitoring

The direct tire pressure monitoring device uses the pressure sensor installed in each tire to directly measure the tire pressure, and uses a wireless transmitter to send the pressure information from the tire to the central receiver module, and then displays the tire pressure data . When the tire pressure is too low or leaks, the system will automatically alarm.

Main Functions:

1.Prevent accidents

With the tire pressure monitoring system, we can keep the tires working within the specified pressure and temperature range at any time, thereby reducing tire damage and extending tire service life. Some data show that when the tire pressure is insufficient, when the wheel pressure drops by 10% from the normal value, the tire life will be reduced by 15%.

2.More economical driving

When the air pressure in the tire is too low, it will increase the contact area between the tire and the ground, thereby increasing the friction resistance. When the tire pressure is lower than the standard pressure value by 30%, fuel consumption will increase by 10%.

3.Reduce suspension wear

When the air pressure in the tire is too high, it will reduce the damping effect of the tire itself, thereby increasing the burden on the vehicle damping system. Long-term use will cause great damage to the engine chassis and suspension system; if the tire pressure is not uniform, it is easy Cause the brakes to deviate, thereby increasing the wear of the suspension system.
